There are two options for joining a tour:
 

OPTION 1
Maidstone Services (Junction 8) on the M20 London - Dover motorway. 

This is now our preferred meeting place, having been an option when we first started our tours.  The reason for the popularity of this location is its ease of access (especially if you are travelling down from the north of the UK) and the fact that you can leave your car at the services whilst you are away with us (approx £6 per day payable direct to the services).  It's also easy to get to - and much easier than parking in London!

The M20 Services at Maidstone (AKA Hollingbourne) also has a handy Travel Inn (motel) on site (click here, or above Travel Inn logo, for the Travel Inn web site for on-line bookings, or phone +44 (0) 8701 977 169. This is particularly useful if you are travelling from far away as you can stay over the night before, ready to be picked up at your door by us at about 8.00 am.  If all six tour members meet here then I will also most likely stay overnight at the Travel Inn, thus giving us an opportunity to meet up the night before we set off. The map below shows the location of the above service area.

OPTION 2
Victoria Railway Station (Grosvenor Gardens), central London.

This option may be best is you are flying in to London.  On exiting the station turn left and walk towards Buckingham Palace Road.  Grosvenor Gardens is the opposite side of the road (you will see a statue of Marshal Foch on horseback facing you). Our minibus will be parked to the left (west) side of Grosvenor Gardens as shown by a red star on the below map.

A most convenient hotel to stay at, if you are thinking of joining us at Victoria, is the Thistle Hotel at Victoria situated directly opposite our meeting place!  We're sorry we are unable to offer a corporate rate (as we are too small), but from our experience we recommend that if you are thinking of  booking a room at this conveniently located hotel, then do so through their on-line booking web site by clicking here (or phone +44 (0) 870 333 9120.

Room rates are usually about 20% cheaper if booked this way (about £120 per room). The location of the Thistle Victoria hotel is clearly shown on the below map (left map - part of Victoria station).

Another option to consider is booking a room at one of the many smaller (and less expensive) hotels dotted around the Victoria area. I have often found the web site www.laterooms.com most helpful. When searching select 'London hotels' then select 'London underground' from the search criteria near the top of the page (and nearest underground train station as 'Victoria').

Here are two maps of the Victoria area. The map to the right may be more helpful when booking one of the smaller hotels close to Victoria rail station as it shows more of the area to the south where such hotels tend to be located.
