Situated right in the heart of Ypres (Ieper) and fronting on to the famous Grote Markt (Market Square), the family-run Hotel Old Tom offers simple accommodation and beautifully cooked food in an hotel of character and charm. I have used this hotel for many years now and I can only describe it as 'looking and smelling' of Belgium.

The popular (with WW1 visitors especially) Old Tom is a refreshing change from the larger more commercially oriented hotels to be found in Ypres. Robert and Christine Cornet, together with their daughter Sylvie (see above photo), are justly proud of their well deserved reputation for serving some of the best food to be had in town - and at a very reasonable price.

Somme Battlefield Tours Ltd uses this hotel for both conducted and Self-Drive tours. The famous Cloth Hall and ‘In Flanders Field’ museum are virtually next door, and the Menin Gate is just a short walk away. From the Old Tom you can easily reach all of the many sites of interest to be found in this most beautiful town.
